Agar Agar
Instructions on Using Agar Agar
Agar is popularly known as
agar agar, it is a sea
vegetable and is tasteless, it is utilized for gelling
liquids. It is a healthy diet that provides calcium,
iron and iodine. Since it has no unique taste of its
own, it mixes very well with savory and sweet foods.
Instructions on using Agar Agar
1. Make simple gelled liquid or kanten, which can be
consumed as rejuvenating snack or dessert. Combine 2
cups liquid and ¼ cup sugar flakes in a saucepan. Simmer
the heat for about 5 minutes; make sure the agar is
completely melted or dissolved. Pour this mixture into a
mold, let it set for a room temperature and then put in
refrigerator.
2. Combine nuts and fruits to a kanten. When the
agar agar
has dissolved, mix in cooked or raw fruits and nuts. To
make layers, pour some of this liquid into a mold and
let it set up. Add a layer of fruit or nuts, then again
a layer of liquid and let it set again. Repeat the
procedure until all the liquid is used. Cool and
refrigerate the mixture for a night.
3. You can add tofu or yogurt or both to make pudding or
mousse. Dissolve the agar in liquid. Blend yogurt,
sweetener, tofu any other flavors together or any other
thing you would like, such as vanilla, almond or lemon
extract. Add the agar liquid and blend it until it is
mixed well. Make it chill and serve.
4. Make a vegan cheese that is sliceable or a savory
mousse. Dissolve agar in broth or soy milk. Sweet
ingredients can be replaced with tahini, pimentos,
nutritional yeast, lemon juice and ground cashews to
make the base for savory mousse. Put three tablespoons
of agar to make something that is sliceable.
