Things to Keep in Mind Before Piercing
So, you have made your mind to make a visit to a
piercing saloon? Firstly, it would be good to have a
snack before, because you don’t want to feel weak or
dizzy, it is better to eat something or at least drink
something before getting the pierce. It is always
recommended to get the piercing done by a professional
and it is not a do-it-yourself projects. Never ever try
to do it on your own.
Unless recommended by your professional,
do not apply
anything that contains alcohol on just pierced parts or
spots. It is exceptionally recommended to use some
hydrogen peroxide or some alcohol for main treatment of
healing nose, eyebrow areas or belly-button. You should
get your body or any other part pierced only in
certified saloons. Don’t go for cheap piercing services,
it is not worth to risk your own health for couple of
more dollars.
At the time of your appointment with professional, it
would be intelligent to ask him about the instrument
sterilization policy accepted there and the methods of
piercing. Make sure that he used special instruments
recommended by the practitioners or members of PPA
(Piercing Professional Association).
Make sure that the piercing you select is
made of biologically lifeless metals like platinum,
titanium, gold or surgical steel. The item that is going
to be used for your beautification is about to be placed
in your own skin, so make sure that specific metal is
safe.
All jewelry has to be sterilized and there is no second
thought or question about it. The professional should
provide you all the necessary suggestions and
recommendations about the best ways to act during or
after the operational periods. It is his job and duty to
explain you the benefits and disadvantages of piercing
in detail.
